MORNING ROUTINES

Your morning routine is important for setting a great intention for your day.

Do you wake up late, and are always rushing? Then feel like thats how you spent the rest of your day? I have always been a morning person, half the time I wake up before my alarm goes off. I don't like to feel rushed so I have always tried to get up 30 minutes before I need to.

But of course there those days when it feels like you’re literally dragging yourself out of bed after hitting snooze like 10 times.

I have been there and I will admit I still have days like that. But what I have learnt is that if you have a good morning routine it will set you up for a successful, positive day.

Hitting snooze is the first problem. Something I suggest would move your phone away from your bed. Not only will that force you to stand up when your alarm goes off it will also decrease the amount of light coming from your phone in the middle of the night if you are getting notifications. This means less chance of interruptions while your sleeping, and that means better sleep.

Snooze can be the enemy, I recently learned that once you go back to sleep it takes your body about 40 minutes to get out of your sleep cycle. That’s why when you go back to sleep after hitting snooze you feel even more exhausted then you did when your first alarm went off, and its even harder to get out of bed. Set your alarm for when you need to get up and get your butt out from under those covers!

Set your mood for the day, if you have crazy mornings right now try and get up 15-20 minutes early so you have time for yourself, and time to set your intentions. Have you noticed the days you are stressed and busy running around, that feeling follows you around through your day, and makes your less productive?

My morning routine:

  • Wake up 7:30

  • Mediate 5-10 minutes

  • Read one chapter of whatever book I am reading- I read inspiring, self-development books so I feel very motivated, and excited to concur the day after. No longer then 30 minutes.

  • Daily Gratitude -After my meditation I either write down or say 3-5 things I am grateful for out loud.

  • Write down 3-5 tasks I need to complete that day

  • Feed the pup, and make coffee

  • Start my day feeling fantastic!!

Whatever is going to make you feel amazing do it first thing. I love how I feel after meditation, and that’s what works well for me. For you if its blasting your favourite song or signing in the shower do that! Practice gratitude, and get excited for this new day ahead.

Give yourself time first and start your day right, you will notice a big shift in your day. Less negative stressful thoughts and more positive energy.

Have a beautiful day! ♡

I would love to hear how you set a positive intension for your day!
